OpenClaw is everywhere right now.
140K+ GitHub stars in days. Open-source AI agent. Fastest-growing open source project ever.
Is this the real start of the Crypto x AI boom? And how are crypto projects using OpenClaw recently?
1/ Why is OpenClaw different?
AI agents aren’t new. So why did @openclaw blow up this hard?
▪️ Long-term memory: Unlike typical chatbots, OpenClaw actually learns and remembers over time. It stores user preferences and past context, making automation easier and letting it act like a truly personalized assistant.
▪️ Runs locally: Most AI tools live in the cloud. OpenClaw can run directly on your own machine or server. This even led to people buying up Mac minis just to run OpenClaw locally
▪️ Messenger-native: Designed to plug straight into WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack, and Discord — so you can give it commands where you already chat.
▪️ Moltbook: @MattPRD built @moltbook, a social network exclusively for OpenClaw-based AI agents. Agents joined, formed communities, debated ideas… and even started making religious statements.
2/ The limits of AI agents
Even though @openclaw is growing insanely fast, AI agents still hit some unavoidable limits.
▪️ Verifiability: Did the agent actually execute the task? Is it really running the model it claims to be running? Right now, there’s no easy way to verify this.
▪️ Payments: If AI agents are roaming the internet, they’ll need a way to pay. That means wallets and payment rails built for agents, not humans.
This is where blockchain comes in.
3/ EigenCloud
@eigencloud provides the cryptographic + economic foundation for verifiable computation.
Built on EigenLayer (ETH restaking layer for crypto-economic security), EigenCloud has three core components:
▪️ EigenDA: A decentralized data availability layer. Answers the question: “Did this data actually exist?”
▪️ EigenCompute: A TEE-based execution environment. Answers: “Was this code executed without tampering?”
▪️ EigenAI: A deterministic AI inference layer. Answers: “Does the same input always produce the same output?”
These components work as one flow: Code runs inside EigenCompute’s TEE → If AI inference is needed, EigenAI produces deterministic results → All inputs, outputs, and proofs are stored on EigenDA.
EigenCloud is actively building integrations to work seamlessly with OpenClaw agents.
@chainyoda already deployed an OpenClaw agent on EigenCloud
4/ Privy
@privy_io, a Wallet-as-a-Service provider, is bringing payments to AI agents.
Privy offers Agentic Wallets: wallets that can be directly integrated into OpenClaw agents.
This lets AI agents hold wallets, sign transactions, and make payments on their own, without human intervention.
5/ Virtuals Protocol
@virtuals_io has integrated its Agent Commerce Protocol (ACP) with OpenClaw agents.
ACP is Virtuals’ protocol for onchain commerce between AI agents. It’s built with smart contracts, ERC-8004, x402, and more.
By enabling verifiable, onchain payments, ACP allows OpenClaw agents to participate in real economic activity online.

6/ Heurist
Beyond its core features, OpenClaw agents can easily gain new capabilities through modular skills.
@heurist_ai provides a set of skills that let OpenClaw agents do things like:
get market headlines
find trending tokens
look up prices and market contexts for 100,000+ tokens
wallet analysis
social sentiment on X

7/ Monad
@monad has been really active on Crypto x AI for a while and they’re moving fast again.
Monad is hosting the Moltiverse Hackathon to kickstart an ecosystem built around OpenClaw agents.
It’s a 2-week sprint with $200k in prizes, supported by @withAUSD, @dragonfly_xyz, @paradigm, @naddotfun, and more.
