Now, let’s meet the storytellers bringing Story to life.
Story is pioneering the IPfi sector within Web3, establishing a financial infrastructure that enables creators, developers, and investors to trade and utilize IP assets on-chain. The core objective is to unlock liquidity for IP, transforming it into an investable asset class - an area where traditional financial systems have struggled.
Historically, intellectual property has been safeguarded through copyrights, patents, and trademarks, generating revenue over long periods, typically under corporate or institutional control. However, the conventional IP market is characterized by high entry barriers, inefficient pricing mechanisms, and liquidity constraints, making it largely inaccessible to individual creators and retail investors. Story leverages blockchain technology to address these limitations, focusing on the financialization of IP.
The IPFi framework within Story’s ecosystem is built upon three primary goals: enhancing transparency in IP valuation, expanding market accessibility for both creators and investors, and prioritizing composability to maximize interoperability within the crypto economy. These elements collectively contribute to a more dynamic and scalable IP market.
Story’s IPFi sector is expected to develop in two key phases.
The first phase focuses on establishing core DeFi infrastructure to make IP a tradeable asset using existing financial primitives. This includes IP-backed stablecoins, tokenized royalty claims, and IP-collateralized lending, all of which facilitate liquidity. Many IP projects already utilize DeFi infrastructure for asset monetization, and similar tools are currently in development within the Story ecosystem.
The second phase introduces structured IPFi products, advancing beyond foundational DeFi mechanisms to create sophisticated financial instruments. This phase involves designing new investment models for IP assets and bridging the traditional Web2 IP market with on-chain finance. Key innovations include IP-backed loans, RWA tokenization of IP, and structured IP portfolios and funds. These mechanisms allow large-scale IP projects to efficiently secure capital, positioning IP as a fully recognized asset class in financial markets.
For IPFi to scale, critical infrastructure components such as price oracles, on-chain IP verification systems, and licensing management tools must be established. Teams within Story’s ecosystem are rapidly building these foundational elements, and the growth of IPFi presents significant new opportunities for creators and investors alike. By enabling the evaluation and exchange of creative and digital assets in ways traditional finance could not, IPFi is poised to become one of the most vital financial infrastructures in Web3.
This section will explore key IPFi and DeFi projects currently being developed within Story’s ecosystem.

Additionally, every agent is automatically assigned an IP-bound account (Token Bound Account, ERC-6551), allowing it to autonomously manage on-chain activities and royalty earnings.
What sets Story.fun apart is its selective tokenization mechanism. Simply creating an AI agent does not guarantee token issuance. Instead, an agent must first demonstrate utility and gain community approval before launching a token through an Initial Agent Offering (IAO). The decision is determined by $veOS (vote-escrowed $OS) holders, who vote on whether an agent should proceed to token issuance. Only approved agents can launch tokens through a bonding curve model, ensuring that only credible and community-backed projects enter the ecosystem.
To enhance long-term sustainability, Story.fun has introduced two key economic mechanisms. First, LP tokens are permanently locked, preventing rug pulls and establishing long-term credibility. Second, a Dynamic Fee Model is applied, where high transaction fees (up to 15%) are imposed immediately after token launch, gradually decreasing to 1% over time. These fees are used for token buybacks and burns, ensuring sustained value capture within the ecosystem.
Unlike traditional financial assets that primarily rely on market transactions, crypto assets enable users to actively participate in ecosystems and earn rewards through their contributions. While stocks can only be acquired via purchase unless one is an insider, crypto networks are designed to integrate economic activity directly into user interactions, fostering a more participatory financial model.
This fundamental characteristic positions crypto as more than just an investment asset class, expanding its scope into a user-driven economic model. Ultimately, this shift will serve as the catalyst for billions of mainstream users to engage with the on-chain economy. Over time, crypto-native projects have continued to refine their user experience, with an increasing number of services offering intuitive interfaces and user-friendly reward structures that resemble Web2 experiences.
